Reach Back Warren Community Day Planned

The Reach Back Warren Community and Back to School Day will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the Perkins Park and Warren Amphitheatre from 12pm to 6pm. The event is for the entire city of Warren.  It is our goal to bring together the Warren community, while maintaining the focus of supporting,  encouraging, and investing in our youth. We will give away book bags that include school supplies, free  haircut coupons, and free food; provide games for all and present live music from Warren natives. Stay tuned, more details to come.

Warren G. Harding – June Class of 1950

The Warren G. Harding, June Class of 1950 recently presented The Warren City Schools Foundation with a check donation in the amount of $500 that will benefit students of  The Warren City School District.  On hand for the check presentation was Mr. Jim Lewis (alumni and retired Warren City School District employee) and fellow alum Mrs. Mary (Sirko) Craciun.  The foundation is most appreciative of the donation as well as the generosity of fellow alumni for their recognition of giving back to the present students, Our Children. Our Future.  Thank you June Class of 1950.

“Raiders Go Green” Recycling Initiative Update

The foundation is happy to report that the “Raiders Go Green” recycling program launched last Fall has generated $230.00 so far.  This program enables the foundation to collect and recycle empty inkjet/laser cartridges and old cell phones and earn cash for the school district.
If you or your business would like to get involved, please drop your recyclables off at any school building in the district including the BOE located at 105 High St. NE in Warren or phone 330-841-2321 ext. 7232 for more information.

2nd Annual Student Showcase Highlights

The 2nd Annual Student Showcase event was held on April 2nd at Warren G. Harding High School event goers were treated to the beautiful sounds of the Madrigal Singers, a motivating performance from The Positive Force Drill Team and a special performance from the Warren G. Harding Drama club.  The event also included a special student artwork exhibit and auction of select items and also hosted a special Warren G. Harding and Warren Western Reserve memorabilia exhibit.

The foundation hosts this event to highlight the students, their work and their instructors work, monies raised are utilized to assist in the purchase of Student Response Technology for district classrooms.  Those at the event were able to participate in a basket raffle, bake sale and silent auction of select artwork.

Second Annual Student Showcase – Saturday, April 2, 2011 6:00P-9:00P

A Big Thanks to The Warren Public Library

The foundation wishes to acknowledge The Warren Public Library for their contributions to the “Raiders Go Green” Recycling initiative.  The library has been kind enough to help in our quest to raise funds for students of The Warren City School District by recycling empty inkjet/laser cartridges and old cell phones.  We have packed over 4 boxes of recyclables that will ship out today and more will be sent out early next week.  A special thanks to Cheryl Bush for all of her efforts in making this a success.  The foundation looks forward to a continued recycling effort with the library.

The foundation expresses sympathy to the family of Carl Zoba

The foundation extends sympathy to the family of Carl Zoba, who passed away on November 28, 2010.  Mr. Zoba was a 1950 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School and also served as the Assistant Chief of the Warren Fire Department.  The Zoba family has very kindly asked that donations in Carl’s honor be made to the Barbara Ann and Carl Zoba Scholarship fund, administered by The Warren City Schools Foundation.  Annually a Warren G. Harding Senior receives funding from the Barbara Ann and Carl Zoba Scholarship.�
